Awesome News and Mad Men

We have some very AWESOME news to share with all of our friends and family....Ashton was accepted into the Registered Nurse (RN) Nursing Program this weekend.  The letter came on Saturday just before we returned from biking around our neighborhood garage sales.  The letter had a glow to it -- we knew this was THE letter.  Ash opened it right away and I shed a few tears of joy.  He worked so hard for this acceptance and it was so relieving to hear that the program faculty agreed that he deserved 1 of 30 spots given for the 2010 program.

So now Ash has until late September to kick back (work too of course) and relax.  Once September arrives, he'll be in school full time completing the 2 year program to become an RN, finishing June 2012.  It's crazy to think that our son will be nearing his second birthday by that time.

We also had fun dressing up this weekend to celebrate dual birthdays.  The theme of the party was 'Mad Men' so we put on our best 60's attire and carried around fake cigarettes.  In April, during our trip to Idaho, Grandma gave me a turquoise outfit from the mid-50's that my Grandpa had given to her when she was pregnant with my dad.  Here's some fun pics from the night.
