Owen has been up to so much lately. He's gets around really quick, wears big boy shoes with rubber soles, can tell you what any one of about 10 animals say, including a rhinoceros, drives his trains on the track, points and says "this" to everything and anything he wants to see up close or get his hands on, and is obsessed with banana, grapes and blueberries. He and the dog are getting along really well. Sofie is so gentle with him {of course we are always refereeing}, and lets Owen throw her ball for her, and feed her his treats. This morning she let him drive his train on her rear...we've come a long way!
Owen is experiencing a bit of separation anxiety lately, but mostly when we've been cooped up in the house it seems. At our 1 year old mama and me class he is independent, social and lively. I have really enjoyed having a weekly class to attend with him and other supportive mamas.
The leaves are colorful and falling to the ground already. The air is crisp. I can really remember this time last year and how different things are now. For instance, Owen is sleeping great. Occasionally he seems to wake from a night terror. I'm not sure of it yet, but it's a completely different kind of waking, and not one that appears to be from being scared. First year molars should be making their way through soon, so it's possible that he's waking in pain, but he goes from 0 to 60 and is completely inconsolable for around 10 minutes. Ok, so otherwise, he's sleeping great. There is still NOTHING like a full nights sleep. I will never take that for granted as long as I live. Owen's hair is getting so long. The curls in the back and long and luxurious. He knows how to comb his hair. He runs to the bathroom if you mention taking a bath, and runs to our room for tickles on the "tickle bed."
We're gearing up for Halloween. Owen and I are going as cat {me} and mouse {him}. Ashton is going as Steve Zissou {From the movie Life Aquatic} again. I will post those pics separately, as we are going to be dressing up Saturday and of course Monday {the 31st}. We took a trip to the pumpkin patch again this year. Again we took the hay ride and ate apples. We went and saw the animals again too, but this time Owen got stung by a wasp! Poor guy didn't know what hit him. Everything turned out fine though and we walked away wallets empty and with only two pumpkins!! Yikes.
